Eric Skavang has been appointed as the league commissioner of Independence League Baseball.

Skavang will oversee iLB league partnerships, sponsorship development, market expansion & strategic planning.

Independence League Baseball is excited to bring on Eric Skavang as our league commissioner,” stated Eric Schmidt, iLB President. “We’ve been patient in filling this role within our organization and feel Eric brings a unique skillset and desire to help our league develop and grow.”

With 15 years of corporate leadership experience, Eric has built a successful career by leading teams in companies such as Frito-Lay and AT&T/FirstNet, specializing in business strategy, team development, and organizational growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Marketing, along with two Master’s degrees—one in Organizational Leadership and another in Management.

Independence League Baseball is comprised of five member teams: Casper Spuds (Casper, WY), Fremont Moo (Fremont, NE), Hastings Sodbusters (Hastings, NE), Oahe Zap (Pierre, SD), & Spearfish Sasquatch (Spearfish, SD),  and three travel clubs: Bison Baseball, Plainsmen Baseball & Nebraska Prospects.
